[Maybe Kaoru had been hoping someone else had already given the mission report. But well, it's not like Kaoru's never done this before. Though it's never been just her...]
i'm glad you were fine.
well. almost as soon as we were separated from everyone else a thick fog rolled in and we couldn't get rid of it at all. then when we kept going we started to hear singing? i can't really explain what happened after but it felt like i was hit with some kind of hypno attack...except that wasn't what it was. and then we just kept following the singing and then we were almost eaten by these things that looked like really ugly women.
we're all fine though! no one was eaten and everyone is safe!
We'll have to find some place to put them in the long run. I get the feeling we don't really have the necessary equipment to keep them in tanks for too long.
[How dare he do this to her! She stares at this message for quite some time, just... processing everything. He's such a great person. He's the best person. But a promise is a serious thing, and she—
Well. There's simply no possible way that she can tell him no.]
Yeah. Three people I know are - and John's my best friend. But he lives in another district and I can't really, like, lay claim to all his time just because I get lonely?
There's never any harm in learning something new like that... but you can't beat yourself up because you can't heal. Everyone here has different skills, and those skills all have different use.
[So:]
If you could heal instead of what you can do, we'd be in trouble when we need you to do what only you can do.
You were almost eaten??! That's horrible! I'm glad you and your group members got out safely.
Would you mind telling me more about what happened when you found the women? This sounds like something everyone needs to be aware of if they go into the forest.
I don't know Egbert-kun that well, but I'm sure he'd want to know if you were feeling lonely. That's... how friendship works, right?
[And on that note, actually--] You can always message me, too, if you want someone to spend time with! [A pause before he blushes.] U-um, not that I'm saying you'd want to spend time with me over your best friend! I-it's just, if you're lonely, I wouldn't mind hearing from you... or just any time at all! Not just when you're lonely!
[He covers his face, because this seems to be the only way to stop himself from rambling on any more.]
well, you know. ei-chan is pretty much immune to being eaten. i got some drool on my clothes though. it was super gross!
[Also she may or may not have slapped Joshua the thread is still ongoing. She's just trying to put things in a way that was more funny than terrifying.]
there's not much else to add. when we heard the singing it was like i wasn't worried at all? approaching them almost seemed like a good idea even though a part of me knew it wasn't. i managed to snap out of it when i realized what was going to happen to the people with me if i didn't.
i'm not sure how helpful this is. but it's weird that this happened because as an esper i'm supposed to have a natural resistance to mind control? [Especially as a part of Japan's strongest esper team.]
but like, here's the weirdest thing and why i really needed to talk to you besides making sure you're okay.
they disappeared into dust after we hit them, but i managed to snag some hair and bring it back. i have a friend from home who i knew could tell me more about them and she says these things sort of...don't seem like they existed before? like they were just PUT there for us to run into.
ouni-kun is quiet! i don't think that he's used to being around people, but i'm sure that we'll be friends soon. he's really good with a staff! rin-kun is quiet and a little sad.
oh, and john-kun was afraid to punch me at first! 。゚( ゚^∀^゚)゚。
they're all different, but i think that i'll learn a lot! what about you?
[And of course she's on first-name basis with all of them, because... that's how she is...]
I...I know. [Izuku rubs at his eyes, then gives a tired, little laugh.]
I just have a habit of thinking too much. My classmates would probably agree. [He plops himself right down on the ground with a sigh.] When it's quiet like this, I end up thinking of the possible scenarios, and what I might be able to do to help if it happened.
[Obviously, it winds Izuku up and stresses him out, but they all have tendencies they can't just pretend don't exist. It's better to acknowledge them and accept them, right?
And, quietly:]
So... you should keep talking about it. I think that helps, when you're stuck thinking too hard about things. At least then, you're not all alone with those thoughts.
Oh I remember Ouni-kun! You're right, he is pretty quiet. If there's anyone who can get him to open up, though, I'm sure it's you, Uraraka-san. Rin...meaning Okumura-kun, right?
I haven't sparred with Egbert-kun yet, but between your zero gravity quirk and his wind powers, I think it could be really interesting!
Right now I'm just matched up with Strider-kun for sparring and Ichinose-sensei is the one teaching me. I like them both a lot.
