Huh. Ok. .... w8. You use "san" with my name! Are you saying you don't respect me???? >::::? Right? The last time I tried teasing him it didn't work at all. So I put a spider in his hair. Deku jumped on his head and everything. And even that didn't work! He is the undisputed master of the poker face.
[Though Izuku doesn't say anything, the contact makes him pause and tense up a little. He remembers all too well what happened the first time they kissed, but right now he's supposed to be making sure Shouto's comfortable, not thinking of that.
Trying not to shift, Izuku carefully wraps his arms around Shouto's body, rubbing his nose against his boyfriend's neck. Calm as his movements might feel, his face is still undeniably red.]
[Shouto's thoughts fly immediately to that. He was warm then, but this might just be some weird cold. It's easy to just look down and see the blush on his boyfriend's face.
You're awful. [He gives Shouto a little shove at the shoulder in retaliation. The effect is totally ruined by the blush and the smile threatening to break through.]
You know what. [Izuku mutters as he settles back down. He's at least 99% sure Shouto's thinking the same thing he is.]
[Minato...shrugs a little, because he doesn't know what else to do. The hardest part of dying wasn't dying--it was dying slowly, without anyone to remember with him what had happened.]
We knew it was likely that we'd all forget...
It's just that I didn't think I'd be the only one after all of that to...well, remember.
[And it was very, very lonely, even if he's striving to keep a level tone.]
[Though Shouto's making Izuku squirm with his straight forward answers, Izuku also knows that that's exactly what they are: straight forward. Shouto's never been one to dodge around his feelings.
Nervously, he slides a hand up to cup Shouto's cheek.] You want this?
[Admittedly, it's definitely one way to help his boyfriend with the cold, when even the blankets aren't helping. He just has to make sure, first.]
[You'd think after getting so many truth bombs dropped on him up until now, Izuku would be more used to Shouto's honesty. He isn't, though, and this still takes him by surprise.]
Oh. [Izuku exhales shakily, letting that sink in.] Why didn't you say anything?
[Another embarrassed sound escapes him.] I...wouldn't want to say that in public either. [At least he and Shouto are on the same page about this. Small mercies.
He grows quiet then, gently stroking Shouto's cheek for a moment before finally leaning in for a tentative kiss.]
[Kissing isn't new for either of them at this point, but everything that comes after it.. definitely is. The nerves kick in, making Izuku tense up a little despite his best efforts.
It's surprising, how different it is from that other time, when things had flowed so naturally from one thing to the other. Then again, Izuku supposes knowing what they're planning to do would be more nerve-inducing, in hindsight.]
[Kissing is a familiar activity. But there's a lot more to this whole thing they're doing than just that. It's so easy to notice the way Izuku tenses up.
Not that Shouto can really blame him. Shouto's been anticipating this for a long, long time. He'll gently pull away from the kiss, resting their foreheads together.]
You did what?? Where did you even get a spider to put in his hair?
Somehow I'm not surprised he still stayed calm the whole time. Shouto's kept me grounded so many times in Chroma. I might be a little biased, but he's one of the most reliable people here, in my opinion.
Oh. Oops. <3 A girl has to have her secrets! ;;;;) Threatening to put spiders in people's hair is surprisingly effective, too. Except with Shouto, I guess. Aw. I mean, I get it. Shouto is kind of.... One of my 8est friends here? I'd say something like "don't tell him I said that," 8ut I think he already knows. He's a really good person. And like you said, relia8le. More than many people I have met in my life. All of that said, you guys are gross. I can't 8elieve he named the purr8east after you.
[Even for someone as removed from that situation as Izuku is knows that it must have been lonely for Minato to be the only one who remembered. If all of Izuku's friends suddenly forgot the things they'd all been through, getting closer as classmates and allies on the field...he doesn't know what he would do. And Shouto... it's been Izuku biggest worry, that they might forget what they've gone through together here. To think, it isn't just a worry for Minato, but his reality, makes Izuku's heart hurt for him.
Wordlessly, he reaches for Minato's hands, holding them in his own if Minato lets him.
There's... something that he should say, he thinks, to comfort Minato, but he's drawing a blank. Nothing feels like it would be enough to convey the loss that Minato's had to face alone, after such a difficult battle. So this is all he can do for the moment.]
Yeah, sure. Thanks. [He'll head inside, but he's also going to make a point to stop Izuku really quick to force him to look at his eyes. You know. His lovely, gray eyes.]
Well first of all, this happened as soon as we got back from the castle.
[... Minato willingly squeezes Izuku's hands, meeting his gaze with a small smile. There's a hint of bittersweetness to it--it would be a lie to say it wasn't hard, after all.
But even so...]
It was my choice.
I don't regret anything that happened...and I don't regret my situation, either. Okay? So... don't worry too much over it.
