[The door creaks open slowly and Izuku peeks out from behind it, sheepishness all over his expression as he does so. As soon as he'd figured out how long he and the others had been gone, he'd known that he would get a visit from his teacher at some point.
It's probably a good thing he'd at least told Aizawa where he was going or he'd be in way more trouble.]
I'm really sorry, sensei. We ran into some trouble and we didn't have a way to send messages back to town.
[Well at least Midoriya is well-aware of why he's making a house visit.
Aizawa refrains from reaching up to pinch the bridge of his nose. It's not like Midoriya hadn't informed him ahead of time of his intentions, and given the foundation of their relationship there's no avoiding the risks that come with the territory of wanting to become a pro Hero.
Still, there's still too little they know about this place, and the fact that Midoriya himself is bewildered by his own disappearance only serves to prove that the measures they put into ensuring everyone's safety just isn't enough.
However, that can wait, and even though Midoriya is obviously well enough to answer the door Aizawa's first question is a simple—]
[Maybe it's because it's Midoriya that Aizawa's shoulders sag in relief before he realizes what he's doing. It's no secret that this student in particular is a magnet for trouble, and the amount of times he's attracted danger is more than enough to discourage most. Still, his expression remains pinched, especially when Midoriya continues on a vein that's downright perplexing.
However, he wonders if it was simply a case of 'losing track of time' or if there's a more hefty explanation connected to the previous contradictions they've come across when they were piecing together everyone's memories.]
How long did it feel for you? [He settles with after a noticeable pause.] Two days is a long time to lose track of.
Maybe a day, at most? [Izuku presses his thumb into his bottom lip for a moment, trying to recall.] It's hard to tell when you're concentrating on finishing the task they've given you, and there's no clock around to check.
We did lose consciousness between Akashi-san's bubble popping and waking up in the underwater caves, though. Maybe we were out for a lot longer than we thought.

Are you hurt?

No, the creatures that we ran into--not mermaids, but close to them, I think--didn't hurt us. They let us go after we helped them with a few things.
[Izuku's lips curve downward as he explains.] It was really hard to keep track of the time while we were down there.
