Hey, Izuku.

[It's pouring out here, and Guren's been handing out towels so much that he's completely out. He's in his sewn up uniform, but he's soaking wet, his hair dripping into his face even if he keeps running his fingers through it to half-slick it back every few minutes.

He looks serious, now, catching Izuku between anything he's been doing, as well, but it's nothing urgent. It's his usual sort of serious.]

How have things been going? Is your team helping out as much as they can?

[inheritance]

Sensei. [Izuku straightens up immediately, looking alert.]

Yeah, we're helping the new people as much as we can. Once everyone's found their places, we'll go back to our normal duties.

[swordfucker]

Good. Keep it up.

[It almost seems like that might be all of it, but Guren isn't moving, and he's focused on Izuku for a long few seconds.]

But before you do go back to it, I have something else to tell you. This isn't something to spread unnecessarily, but two vampires from my home showed up, and one of them hates my guts.

[inheritance]

What? [Immediately, Izuku's expression turns alarmed.]

Are they... really dangerous? [Are they one of the nobility, specially, his expression asks. Guren wouldn't be mentioning this if it weren't important.]

[swordfucker]

The one who doesn't really hate me is stronger. We're working towards the same goal back home, right now.

[So, not much to worry about? Hopefully? He spoke to him and has it under control in his eyes.] The other one, Mikaela, is friends with a kid I took in, Yuu. He doesn't like my influence or how I'm using his power. It's a long story, and he's right about a lot of things.

But I have a lot to do no matter what he feels. He's tried to kill me before, but he might hesitate just because he cares about Yuu so much. And despite him trying all of that, he's a good kid himself. A human turned vampire against his will. He's strong, and he acts like a loner, but he had a family once, too. A family like we have here.

All of them died except for Yuu.

[inheritance]

[That...doesn't do much to appease his worries. In fact, he has even more questions now.]

That's awful. [Izuku says quietly. Losing nearly everyone you cared about...that must've been painful. Though Izuku hasn't met Mikaela yet, he still feels a pang of sympathy for him.]

What did you mean, though? About why he doesn't like you?

[swordfucker]

It's a long story.

[He's not very helpful, looking away, frowning.]

If you run into him, you can ask him, if you want. He goes by Mika.

[Oh...that was surprisingly straight forward? Even if Guren himself didn't give him the information himself.]

What does he look like?

[swordfucker]

Blonde, around your age, with red eyes and white clothes. His fangs stand out.

[Vampire fangs are hard to miss!] He'll be hanging out near the forest, so I wanted to warn you that he's not hostile, but don't push him. He might actually like you, until you mention that you like me, so say it carefully.

[inheritance]

[Izuku puffs up immediately--with his hair plastered against his head from the rain and his clothes drenched, the sight is more ridiculous than intimidating.]

There's nothing wrong with liking you.

[swordfucker]

[...Okay, that's so cute it actually gets Guren to laugh, cheered up for the moment after all of these stressful meetings. He reaches over to mess up that wet hair even further, ruffling it.]

Haha! You try telling that to Mika and see what happens. He'll think I brainwashed you.

[inheritance]

[Izuku doesn't even attempt to move away when he sees Guren reaching for his hair. Drenched as everything is right now, the gesture of affection is still nice--to him at least. It draws a smile out of him, serious topic aside.]

He can't think that's what happens to everyone who likes you. [...can he?]

[swordfucker]

[His smile fades, but his hand stays in place for a moment longer before he drops it.]

You'll see when you meet him.

[Must be some history between the two of them. Curious as he is, Izuku's almost afraid to ask this Mika for information, if he hates Guren that much.]

I'll talk to him. What about...the other vampire? You said that one's stronger than Mikaela-kun is.

[swordfucker]

Crowley. He's tall and muscular, with a braid and red hair. Some of it's darker. [I don't understand his hair don't ask me]

He plays it off like he's a thirteenth progenitor, but he's actually a seventh. The last time I went up against him with my own squad and Yuu's, we lost and I was captured. But for now, he's on my side. I've already spoken to him.

[So, he's fucking strong!! Yay.] Remember, this is all for your ears only. The only thing I want you telling your patrol is that Mika is friendly, and that you can use him, even if he won't join the force. He'll still be patrolling that forest. I know him.

[inheritance]

Seventh... [Izuku's eyes widen, remembering what Guren's said about the hierarchy.] So we'd have a problem if he decided to attack the town.

Um, just checking, how trustworthy do you think Crowley is?

[swordfucker]

I'm telling you not to worry about him, so don't worry about him. You can talk to him and everything. It'll be fine.

[He's not answering the question, though, because vampires are a tricky thing... but it's good enough.]

Okay. [If Guren says Crowley isn't going to be trouble, then Izuku believes him.

He's quiet for a moment.] Do you think he'd give me answers if I asked him a bunch of questions about vampires and their hierarchy?

[You probably should have seen this coming.]

[swordfucker]

Probably. He's going to immediately know you came from me, though. All that means is he might bug me about you later, too.

[inheritance]

Is that... a bad thing? [He's just a bit hesitant to ask.]

[swordfucker]

Nah. [That's all Guren says... He's being the lazy one here, and he knows he can pawn off questions on Crowley. He's really that innocent.]

He listens to me, for the most part, so it's fine. [Crowley is like his dog at this point]

[inheritance]

[It's a testament of Izuku's trust in Guren, that he just takes Guren's word for it and relaxes just a little.]

Okay... so his name's Crowley. [Of course, Izuku's already committed the description to memory.] Um, do you know his hex code? Or I guess... where I'm most likely to find him?

[Hunting down a noble vampire for the sake of asking questions...his curiosity is really too much.]

[swordfucker]

He's so old, he doesn't really use his laptop.

[But just as soon as he's said that, he's continuing, flipping his palms up in a shrug.] But if I had to guess, the library, probably. If you catch him there, tell him to stop making such a mess.

[inheritance]

I go to the library pretty often... I'll see if I can find him while I'm there. [Now that he knows what Crowley looks like, it should be easy...right?]

Should I... let you know if I've talked to either of them?

[swordfucker]

You don't have to, unless they say anything alarming.
